What you need

A Pearl address

A Taproot address that starts with prl1p. Create one in the official Pearl Desktop Wallet (Receive screen) and keep the seed words on paper. Addresses for other coins are refused when your miner connects, so a typo can never mean hashing for nothing.

A GPU and pearlhash software

We tested SRBMiner-MULTI 3.6.9 on an NVIDIA RTX 4090 (Windows) and on a 10-GPU HiveOS rig. Other pearlhash miners that speak the same stratum protocol may work; if yours does not, tell us on Discord.

The pool address

prl.rabidmining.com:9933 shares blocks with the pool (PPLNS). Port 9934 is SOLO: you keep 99% of a block only if your own GPUs solve one.

Windows: a start file you can copy

Put this in a text file next to SRBMiner-MULTI.exe, save it as start-pearl.bat and double-click it. Replace the address with your own.

@echo off SRBMiner-MULTI.exe --algorithm pearlhash --pool prl.rabidmining.com:9933 --wallet YOUR_prl1p_ADDRESS.rig1 pause

To pick one GPU add --gpu-id 1 (run list-gpu-devices.bat to see the numbers). The text after the dot in the wallet is just a worker name.

HiveOS and RaveOS

  1. Make a wallet entry for your prl1p address (Wallets page), or use the address directly in the flight sheet.
  2. Create a flight sheet with the miner SRBMiner-Multi (3.6.9 or newer, which supports pearlhash) and set the algorithm to pearlhash.
  3. Pool URL: prl.rabidmining.com:9933  ·  Wallet and worker template: YOUR_prl1p_ADDRESS.%WORKER_NAME%  ·  Password: x
  4. Apply the flight sheet to your rig and watch the miner log. Within a couple of minutes you should see accepted shares.

Menu names differ a little between HiveOS and RaveOS versions, but the values are the same everywhere: algorithm pearlhash, pool prl.rabidmining.com:9933, wallet address.worker.

What to expect in the first minutes

Shares come slowly, on purpose

A Pearl share is a proof of about 200 KB, so the pool tunes each connection to roughly one share every 12 seconds. Difficulty settles within a couple of minutes. That is normal.

Hashrate takes a while to appear

Your hashrate on the pool page is measured from the difficulty of those shares, so give it 10 to 20 minutes before judging it. Paste your address on the Pearl page (My stats) to watch it.

You are paid per block

With PPLNS, every block that has your shares in its window pays you, whoever solved it, straight from the coinbase. A payout under 1 PRL carries to your next block.

Mining to an exchange? The pool pays whatever address you give it and cannot tell an exchange from a wallet. Check the exchange's minimum deposit, and that it accepts a Pearl Taproot address, before you point a rig at it. To keep what you mine, use a wallet you control.

Questions

My miner connects but shows no accepted shares yet

Wait a few minutes first: shares are about 12 seconds apart per connection. If your miner is refused straight away it says Unauthorized worker, and the cause is almost always the address (it must be a prl1p Taproot address). Still stuck? Send your miner log lines to us on Discord.

Does the pool hold my coins?

No. Your address is written into each block's coinbase and paid by the network. There is no pool balance and nothing to withdraw.

Is this affiliated with Pearl?

No. Pearl is its own chain with its own proof of work. Rabid Pool is an independent project.
