Rent hashpower and point it at Rabid Pool

Rent SHA-256 hashrate on MiningRigRentals, NiceHash or Braiins Hashpower, send it to our rental ports, and if that hashrate solves a block the whole reward goes to your address (99%, the pool keeps 1%). Here is how to connect, and an honest look at the odds first.

What a rental can do: live odds

loading live network numbers…

How to read it. Over a long run, expected value is simply your share of the network times the block reward, and a marketplace charges a little more than that (its margin). So a rental is a lottery ticket, not income. The useful comparison is BCH against BTC: the same hashrate buys about the same expected value on both, but on BCH blocks arrive far more often, so you actually get a chance to hit within a day or a week. On BTC a rental almost never hits.

Rental ports start every connection at difficulty 1,048,576, because a rental arrives with its full hashrate at once and some rental services mark a pool as broken if it is flooded with tiny shares. Extranonce2 is 8 bytes (Braiins needs at least 7) and version rolling is on. Same pool, same payouts, same 1% fee as the everyday ports.

Username: your own payout address, optionally followed by .rig1. Password: x. The rental pays your address, so double-check it: a wrong address pays someone else, and an address the pool cannot pay is refused at connect.

Connect in a few minutes

MiningRigRentals

  1. In your account open Pool profiles and add a profile for the SHA256 algorithm.
  2. Host bch.rabidmining.com, port 4344 (or the port from the table), username your address .rig1, password x.
  3. Rent a rig and attach that profile. Watch it appear on the pool's BCH page under My stats.

NiceHash

  1. Open My pools and add a new pool for the SHA256 ASICBoost algorithm.
  2. Enter host, port and your address as the username (password x), then run NiceHash's pool check. NiceHash wants a high enough starting difficulty, which the rental ports have (1,048,576).
  3. Create an order using that pool and set your limit and price.

Braiins Hashpower

  1. Start a bid and, as the destination, enter stratum+tcp://bch.rabidmining.com:4344.
  2. Username is your address .rig1, password x.
  3. Set price and hashrate. Braiins works on every port (8-byte extranonce2, version rolling).

The MiningRigRentals and Braiins links include Rabid Pool's referral code. They cost you nothing extra and help support the pool. Marketplace screens change, so if a menu name is slightly different, use the same host, port, username and password.

Before you spend money

SOLO is all or nothing. Most rentals will not find a block, and then you have paid for nothing. Only rent what you are happy to lose. If you would rather get something back for sure, use PPLNS (ports 4343 / 5343): you are paid a share of every block the pool finds while your hashrate is in the window.
Why BCH instead of BTC?

For the same rented hashrate the expected value is about the same, but Bitcoin Cash blocks come about 250 times more often per unit of hashrate than Bitcoin blocks (BCH's difficulty is that much lower). So a one-day BCH rental has a real chance of hitting, while a BTC one almost never does. The calculator above shows both with live numbers.
