If you mine through another pool with your own Knots node and the stock DATUM gateway (the one from the iohzrd/datum_gateway build), you only change a few lines in your gateway's config. Your node, your payout address and your miners stay exactly as they are. Stock gateways already mine here and have been paid in our blocks.

coinbase_tag_secondary line? It stamps “Rabid Pool” on any block your node finds, so explorers show it as ours instead of Unknown.
Fees, as published by each pool on 2026-09-29: Rabid Pool 1% flat, paid in the block, no stratum. AlphaPool lists a 2.95% operations fee on DATUM work (their site). Some pools list 0% on DATUM, so compare the whole picture, not just the fee. Check each pool's own page for its current numbers.
Our own gateway (downloads below) adds node names, a wallet in the dashboard, and fuller payouts: a block found by a stock gateway can hold fewer payout outputs than one found by ours, so smaller earnings can carry forward to a later block (see the FAQ).
stratum+tcp://<gateway-ip>:23334 (the SC1 firmware needs the stratum+tcp:// part), use your XBT address as the worker (for an SC1 start the worker name with sc1, e.g. YOURADDRESS.sc1), then press Low.sc1 (for example YOURADDRESS.sc1): it reconnects once and shows SC1 mode in the dashboard's miner list. The dashboard's Controls box has an Obelisk SC1 mode box (automatic by default, with a force-for-all switch). Tested on a real SC1 on Umbrel (thanks tdragger172). Mining and payouts are unchanged.ufw command to run), with a Hide IP button so screenshots and videos never show your public IP. The Controls box also holds Start / Stop, Update, Uninstall, a rentals help pop-up and a Payout address box. Safer Settings: this gateway is for Rabid Pool, so Settings can now change only your payout address (the pool, node and fee fields are fixed); a payout-address change is logged and shown as a banner on the dashboard until you dismiss it, and the dashboard cannot be shown inside another website. Windows: updates now wait for the gateway to exit (an update could fail with “being used by another process”), and Stop Rabid Node really stops it. Rentals and outside rigs still need your router to forward TCP port 23334 to the mining PC. Umbrel and StartOS get the safer Settings but not the phone page (they have their own app link).C:\ProgramData\Rabid XBT DATUM\watchdog.log). Linux: a systemd timer (journalctl -u rabid-xbt-watchdog). Umbrel and StartOS: inside the node container, logged as [watchdog] lines. Mining and payouts are unchanged, and your chain and settings are kept.sudo rabid-xbt password prints it later. Not Ready - pool mode mismatch, it's mining nothing: update it. SOLO mining is also live now. Windows and Linux x86_64 downloads, checksums and the upgrade steps (it's a binary swap — no re-sync): gitlab.com/rabidmining/ratum-rabid/-/releases.
vcruntime140.dll comes from Microsoft's Visual C++ 2015–2022 Redistributable (x64). Most PCs already
have it from other software. Without it the gateway cannot start at all — it closes instantly with code
0xC0000135 and prints nothing, so there is no dashboard on 127.0.0.1:7152 and no log file to look at.
It looks like a broken setup when nothing is actually misconfigured. Our installer now checks for it and offers to install it
for you; to do it yourself, run
vc_redist.x64.exe from Microsoft and then run setup again.

This chain's block weight limit is 800,000. Without that line your node fills a block right to the ceiling and leaves almost
no room in the coinbase — and the coinbase is where the pool's payout list goes. A block you find then pays about
14 miners instead of about 120. Nobody loses a satoshi (everyone else keeps their full claim and is paid on a later
block), but it is one line and it makes your block pay the whole window. Right now the gateways on this pool advertise either the
full coinbase or just 450 bytes — about 14 payout slots. Our Windows and Linux installers set this for you.

Own gateway? If a row below shows only a handful of payout slots, check
blockmaxweight=785000 in that node's bitcoin.conf. Without it the node fills the block to the 800,000 weight
ceiling and leaves no room for the payout list, so a block it finds pays roughly 14 miners instead of roughly 120. Our installers set it;
a hand-built gateway usually does not.

A gateway that stops drops off this list and reappears by itself as soon as it submits again — the counts above the table still include every connected gateway, idle ones included. NoSplit means a stock gateway ran out of room for the payout list on that job, so the share was refused rather than mis-paid. Counters reset when the DATUM server restarts.

A DATUM gateway reports a block as soon as its own submission succeeds — before anyone knows whether it stayed the tip. This list re-checks each one against the live chain. No. XBT is the Bitcoin Knots BLAKE2b hardfork (formerly BTCB2). It shares Bitcoin's transaction history up to the fork and the same address format, but it is a separate chain with a different proof-of-work (BLAKE2b, not SHA-256d). Rabid Pool is not affiliated with Bitcoin Core or the Bitcoin Knots developers.
Sia-family BLAKE2b ASICs on stock firmware: Goldshell SC Lite / SC Box / SC5 Pro / SC6 SE / HS5 (Sia mode), iBeLink BM-S1 Max / BM-S3, and the Antminer A3. It does not work with Kadena miners (BLAKE2s) or Decred miners (BLAKE-256).
Coinbase outputs mature at 100 confirmations. Blocks are currently landing every ~4–5 minutes and trending toward the 10-minute target, so maturity is roughly 7–16 hours depending on network hashrate at the time.
3.125 XBT per block. After the 1% pool fee that's 3.09375 XBT, split across miners by their PPLNS shares in the same coinbase transaction.
Two different numbers, both on your stats page. Blocks your workers solved is how many blocks your specific hardware submitted the winning share for — a vanity stat, fun to watch, but it does not change your earnings. Blocks you earned from is the one that matters: every block where your shares were in the PPLNS window pays you, no matter whose rig solved it. Under PPLNS a small miner earns steadily whether or not they ever personally hit one.
A block's coinbase transaction can only hold so many payout outputs. Rabid Pool builds a coinbase sized for roughly 150, which is well past the number of miners on the pool today. If it is ever exceeded, most of the slots go to the largest unpaid balances and the rest to whoever has waited longest — so a small steady miner is never stuck behind a big one indefinitely. Anything that does not fit is carried to the next block and paid as soon as a slot opens. With a block every few minutes an active miner is paid many times a day. A carried amount is a claim on the next block, never coins the pool is holding. Your carried total is shown on your stats page.

Yes, and it is the easiest way to start — no node, no wallet to set up. Three things to get right. One: pick the correct network. On NeoxEX set the coin to XBT and the network to Bitcoin BLAKE2b Network; the address starts with 1 or bc1. An address starting with G is a NEOX address on the Neoxa network and can never be paid — this pool now refuses it at connect rather than letting you hash for nothing. Two: check the minimum deposit. PPLNS pays in many small coinbase outputs, so payouts drop under a typical minimum easily, and an under-minimum deposit is usually never credited and not recoverable. Three: only do it if you intend to sell soon. An exchange is not a wallet — coins there are not yours, and delistings, frozen accounts and paused withdrawals have cost miners everything they mined. To hold what you mine, use a wallet you control and move coins to an exchange only when you are ready to sell.

The chain uses Bitcoin's 2016-block retarget with a 4× per-adjustment cap. Since the fork, hashrate has been rising faster than the cap allows, so several retargets in a row have hit the +300% ceiling. It settles once hashrate stabilises.
